As a Herald Painter for the College of Arms, Tom has been commissioned to paint, scriven and illuminate many new Grants of Arms for notables such as ex Prime Minister Sir John Major and Sir Terry Wogan.

He has hand written and illuminated many Family Trees cataloguing the great and the good, and the not so good! One notable commission was a very extensive family history for The Lord Lieutenant of Kent which took up a whole wall when framed, and had a decorated border that comprised all the traditional fruit and veg grown in Kent!

Tom has also illustrated many books on heraldry including:-
TRACING YOUR IRISH FAMILY HISTORY by Anthony Adolph published by Collins
TRACING YOUR SCOTTISH FAMILY HISTORY by Anthony Adolph published by Collins
WHO AM I? THE FAMILY TREE EXPLORER by Anthony Adolph published by Collins
THE CAMBRIDGE ARMORIAL by Cecil Humphery-Smith, Heather E. Peek, Gordon H. Wright and C.W. Scott-Giles. Published by Orbis Publishing Ltd.
FAMILY HISTORY MONTHLY Magazine - Coat of Arms feature paintings since 1995

As an heraldic artist I value and enjoy the opportunity to offer the client a truly bespoke and personalized piece of artwork. A coat of arms granted by the College of Arms is designed to carry elements and historical references to the grantee and their family. These elements might reflect the lives and loves of the individual from family portraits or properties, old style maps or favourite flowers and animals within an illuminated border.  I like to continue this tradition in every piece of bespoke artwork, working together and guiding the client so we can achieve a unique and personal depiction for them or their loved ones.
